How Important Is Tourist Dollar For The Economy?

PART 1

1. Is your family big or small?

I'm living in a nuclear family consisting of my parents, my sister and I.

2. What do the other members of the family do?

Other than me, all of the members are working a full-time job. My father is a military doctor for Ministry of National Defence. My mother is a principal official in Office of the Government. And, my sister is working for Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. So, you can say that my family is very dedicated to the country.

3. What was the last time you and your family were together?

Since we are still living under the same roof, it's each and everyday we get to be together. That's the chief reason why my favorite space at home is the kitchen where we share meals while having intimate conversation, or just simply chatting.

4. What do you usually talk about? Our conversation runs the gamut from goofy daily stories to serious problems such as health issues or troubles at work, at school of each family member. We confide in one another secrets and personal problems that we tend to keep behind closed door.

5. What do you do as a family for special occasions like weddings or feasts?

Special occasions like such are great opportunities for families and relatives to strengthen relationships. We always sit close and get a chance to connect with other relatives.

6. Is there a member of your family you are especially close to?

No, not really. They are all the apple of my eyes. I spend my time and my affection towards them equally.

7. What kind of job do you hope to do in 10 years time?

I'm looking forward to be accepted into the Embassy or an international company. For instance, Unilever. I have observed that working with people from a diverse mix of countries and cultures can benefit your knowledge, credibility and you as an individual with good pay, along with various chances to go abroad.

PART 2

Describe a trip or a holiday you have recently taken.

Suggestions:

Where you went and why?

Who you went with?

What you did?

What made this trip memorable to you?

My family spends a holiday in miscellaneous destinations ranging from the splendid sandy beaches to peaceful village in May annually to avoid tourist traps (those're the worst!). This practice has served as a unifying element in my family life for a long time. Last year was of no difference. We decided to travel to Da Nang, which is a coastal city located in central Vietnam, instead of a far-off country. Apparently, we were on a low-budget travelling for the time being. Nevertheless, the trip did exceed our initial expectations, despite the atrocious experience at the airport.

What happened was my parents got the schedule mixed-up. The plane was supposed to take off at 6 PM, but they mistook it for 8 PM which resulted in missing the flight. Fortunately, my mom was able to negotiate to buy 4 new tickets which half percent off.

As we arrived, we booked a hostel with full-board service only for 250.000 vnd per night, which is a great deal. That being said, the chief factor making this our holiday of a life time was the very well made with reasonable price local crafts in Hoi An, the marvelous beach, breath taking sunrise view and exquisite traditional cuisine! Those are the things to merit! In comparison with beach in Phuket, Thailand, even though the vibrant nightlife in Phuket outshone Da Nang, Da nang was certainly not even close as busy with hords of tourists as Phuket. You have to give it credits for that!

Da Nang was indeed graced by the mother nature. Taking into account how little money we had to spend, this trip is profoundly spectacular with many unforgettable moments which I'll hold dearly. I'm eager to come back one day!

PART 3

1. Had you on a trip like this before? Why? Why not?

Yes, I certainly did. My family are adventurous. The distinguished trait encourages us to travel with consistency. Never once have we spent a summer holiday tediously at home staring at the TV screen. Therefore, trip to such mainstream places isn't any thing too out of this world or surprisingly new to us. You know, what can actually make us thrilled is a visit to exotic places such as Pharaoh's intact tomb or the Amazon rain forest. Nevertheless, we are under apprehension that it'd pose a threat on our lives as well as cost an arm and leg to reach.

2. Do you think travel help broaden the mind?

Absolutely! Traveling helps broadening our horizons through experiencing different parts of the world helps us to get outside of our own heads and open up our hearts and minds to new people, new mindsets, new experiences, and new ways of life. It allows us to adopt practices from other cultures that can positively influence our lives.

3. Describe how the tourism industry has developed in your area?

Over the past decades Vietnam tourism industry has witnessed substantial development proven by the amount of tourists flocking in the country annually. Tourism can easily become one of the major players in ‎international commerce, and represents simultaneously one of the main income ‎sources for a developing country like Vietnam. Being well-aware of the promising possibility, the government focused on improving and preserving public facilities, historical attractions, environment, as well as prohibiting strictly tourist scams to ensure foreigners safety during their stay in Vietnam.

4. Describe what things your area offers tourists.

Back in my first year at university, I volunteered as a tour guide for a student-run organization. Thankfully, I've heeded many heart-warming comments and thoughts from travelers all over the world. They particularly relish the hospitality, the nature-blessed scenery, unique culture and fascinating local cuisine. They also fall head over heel for the reasonable prices and attractions like Ho Chi Minh complex, temple of Literature, Museum of Ethnology or Hoa Lo prison.

5. Evaluate what type of tourists tourism brings to your area.
